About Surya:

Surya (Sanskrit: Surya, meaning "the Supreme Light") is the chief solar deity in Hinduism. Surya, also known as the Sun, is the chief of the Navagraha, the Indian "Classical planets", and a significant element in Hindu astrology. Often depicted riding a chariot pulled by seven horses or a single horse with seven heads representing the seven colors of the rainbow or the seven chakras. Surya is associated with Sunday and considered the Supreme Deity by the Saura sect, although this sect has a limited following. Smartas worship Surya as one of the five primary forms of God.
